Over the past 50 plus years, many of us having personally witnessed many social and moral changes, might agree that it would be justifiable for anyone to say, “Things seem to be falling apart.” This can be illustrated very effectively simply by quoting a few daily news stories. No one can deny that our society and the world in general, are indeed in a state of turmoil, politically, spiritually, and socially. I suppose that many of my readers might tend to think of me as a “Doom and Gloom” preacher at times, and I admit that a lot of what I write may come across that way to many of my readers, especially those who do not know God or those not familiar with God’s “Prophetic Word.” I would venture to say however, that the majority of people, who view me in this way, are people who are simply not paying attention to what is going on right in front of their eyes. Either that or they are living in a state of denial. Many people do not like to listen to the daily news saying it is depressing; I hear this from my wife quite often! As much as any of us would like to eliminate bad news, unfortunately it will always be there. Bad things have been happening for thousands of years and bad things will continue to happen until the Lord returns. There are two ways of looking at these things happening around us, both the good things, and the bad things. We can look at them from a “Secular Worldview Perspective,” or non-Christian viewpoint, or we can view them through the perspective, or filter of God’s Prophetic Word, or the “Christian World View perspective.” The way we view things makes a huge difference as to how we are affected, both emotionally and spiritually when all is said and done. Those people, who continually deny or hide from the reality around them, are unknowingly making themselves vulnerable in many ways. The Bible tells us that in the “End Times” people will be attracted not to the truth, but rather to what makes them feel good, or to what does not interfere with their personal moral code. This is predicted in the Bible concerning “The End Times,” read the following passage:

2 Timothy 4:3-4 (KJV)
3  For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; 4  And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

Why do you suppose that some modern churches are thriving and others are closing their doors due to lack of interest? Forgetting the exact figures, but there was recently an article talking about the staggering number of fundamentalist churches across the nation closing down! Yet, at the same time, there are many so-called “Mega-Churches” that seem to be busting at the seams! So how that happening… why is that happening? Perhaps we should analyze what these thriving churches are teaching, after all, as Christians, we do want the church to grow do we not? By doing this however, I believe that you will soon find that while there are many solid Bible-Based Mega-Churches, you will ultimately find that the vast majority of these churches are also what is referred to as “Worldly,” meaning they favor “Political Correctness” over the Word of God. To true Christians who cling to God’s Word, this would prove to be depressing as they see the Church falling apart in plain sight. However, in light of the Bible passage above, perhaps it is really a reason to rejoice! This passage may be interrupted in two ways depending on one’s spiritual or emotional mindset. The passage says what it says, and it means what it says; it is a prophetic passage. However, from a “World View Perspective” this may be interpreted as being “progressive,” that the Church is finally catching up to reality! However, from a Christian, “Biblical/Prophetic” viewpoint one could say that everything is happening just as the Bible predicted it would!

This not only reinforces the accuracy and reliability of the God’s Word, but it reinforces our faith, hope, and joy as well! The same principle is in affect when we listen to the daily news. When we hear and see things happening around us, if we take the time to see what the Bible has to say about it, it can make a big difference in our emotional reaction. You can either say to yourself, “Woe is me… Woe is the World, everything is falling apart;” or you can say, “WOW… more prophesies fulfilled before our eyes… The Lord is coming soon, just as He said!”  This is the way I see it, and I pray that you too will come to rejoice in it as I do. Therefore, in conclusion, the Bible gives us signs to look for to encourage us and build our faith. Jesus said that just before His return, things would begin to happen in more rapid succession and with more intensity just as the birth process. This is what we are seeing happening all around us. This should inspire us to encourage others to pay attention to the fact that everything is coming together just as the Bible said it would, and that the time to make a decision concerning Jesus is NOW!  Rejoice Jesus is returning soon!
