What Does "Selah" Mean?
Perhaps the best way to think of the word Selah is to Pause (or stop) when considering something you’ve read or heard. You should ask yourself ( considering what you’ve read or heard), “What does it say… What does it mean… what does it mean to You, or Me, or people in general?” The word Selah comes from the Bible; it appears in the book of Psalms 71 times and in Habakkuk 3 times. There has been some controversy concerning the meaning of Selah but many Bible Scholars would agree with the general definition given above.

“Selah Life” was chosen as the name of this site because we believe that too much of what people believe these days is taken for granted. People do not, in most cases, take the time to explore or verify what they see, hear, and ultimately believe throughout their lives from both Secular and Biblical viewpoints. Perhaps if all of us would pause from time to time and take the time to analyze what we see, hear, and read, we might develop a different point of view than we have now. Perhaps false statements or teachings will be exposed, giving us truth concerning knowledge and life in general. As you explore this site… Selah… pause and evaluate what you see, hear, and read. You will quickly see the benefit of doing so.
